Zion Methodist Church has a long history of involvement in missions within our community and worldwide. Here are some of the missions we are currently involved in.
Union County Community Shelter
Every other month, a group from Zion volunteers to provide and serve a meal at the Community Shelter. The Union County Community Shelter’s mission and purpose is to provide food and shelter to the hungry and homeless of Union County and to provide programs to help the homeless achieve self-sufficiency. Carolina Cross Connection
Each summer our youth and brave adult volunteers participate in Carolina Cross Connection. CCC is a Christian youth mission in western North Carolina helping youth and adults make a difference to those in need while allowing Jesus Christ to transform their own lives to look more like Him. CCC is a Christian organization dedicated to bringing youth and adults together to form a Christian community for the purpose of serving God and better knowing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Spreading the love of Christ in the larger community through service to people in need. Loaves and Fishes of Union County
Ever month, Zion collects items for Loaves and Fishes of Union County food pantry. Loaves and Fishes of Union County is a 501(c)(3) corporation that exists to support neighbors in crisis and distribute food, free of charge, to people in need within Union County. Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Everyone is encouraged to participate by providing a gift to share God’s love with children around the world through a these shoeboxes.
